Acne is a problem that plague many of us. We have all gotten into the notion to just treat acne with topical creams and antibiotics. We only want to get rid of the condition after it occurs. I think we should also consider preventing acne. Acne can be caused by vitamin deficiencies. Vitamin A, B, C, E, Zinc, Chromium are all important vitamins for acne sufferers. Americans do not get the necessary nutrients and vitamins from our diet. We eat a lot of fast food and processed foods. These type of foods are low in vitamins and nutrients, but high in sodium, fat, and calories.

Americans not only have to worry about the lack of vitamin and minerals in these foods, but also the oils. There are certain types of oil that can cause acne. Let’s continue our discussion on vitamin and mineral deficiencies. Your skin is a living organ and needs nutrients just like your other organs. It is important to approach acne from a holistic approach. You can’t just focus on vitamin deficiencies and expect for your acne to go away. You can’t just focus on lowering stress levels and expect your acne to improve. You have to combine the vitamin approach with other prevention and treatment methods as well.

Popping Pimples

A surefire way to prevent pimples is to avoid popping your pimples. I know it is very tempting to pop pimples. Popping pimples is also enticing because you are provided with temporary relief once popped. However, you are setting yourself up to get more pimples by popping that one pimple. The bacteria can spread underneath the skin when you pop a pimple. This is what causes you to get more pimples. You can also develop an infection from popping pimples. Popping a whitehead can create cystic acne. It is best to avoid touching your face at all times if you tend to breakout.

You can apply warm compresses to your pimples if they are very sore. Sometimes it is hard to function with a pimple that is very inflamed. Therefore, you should use warm compresses instead of your fingers in those situation when you have a very inflamed pimple. You need to be gentle with your face or any area prone to breakouts. You need to wash your face very gently. You also need to apply topical ointments, moisturizers, and make-up in a gently way. You need to avoid scrubbing your skin with washcloths, loofahs, etc. Scrubbing can only worsen this skin condition. Thus, scrubbing will only sabotage the benefits of your acne soap.

History Of Acne Soaps

An extremely long time ago, soap used to be made from lard. It used to be called Lye soap. Lard is a natural ingredient and is actually good for our skin. Lard soap is simple and pure. Lard soap used to only have a few ingredients. Soap’s composition changed around 1916. The first synthetic detergent was introduced around this time. It was developed in Germany because of the shortage of soap caused by World War I. Now, soap has a multitude of ingredients. Some ingredients you can’t even pronounce. The ingredients you can’t pronounce are more than likely chemicals. I would try to avoid excessive chemicals in soap. After researching, I have found that it is hard to find cases of acne before 1916. People did not have many skin problems when soap only had a few ingredients such as lard. There is a strong connection between the introduction of chemicals and synthetic detergents in soap to acne and other skin problems. This could be the reason most acne sufferers have a hard time finding a soap or facial wash that works. I have found that most soaps or facial washes that minimize acne only have a few ingredients. For example, a benoxide peroxide soap or wash only has a few ingredients with the main ingredient being benoxide peroxide of course.

There are many soaps out on the market. The objective is to find the one that fits your skin because as we know one soap does not fit all. The goal is to find out your skin type. Skin types vary from dry, sensitive, combination, and oily. Some soaps may be good at removing excess oil for oily skins, but may be too harsh for sensitive oily skin. Yes, one’s skin can be oily and sensitive. Dry skin can be very sensitive. Combination skin has its own unique problems. Combination skin requires a soap that is designed for combination skin, because this type of skin has a T-zone area.

Therefore, the skin around the oily T-zone area can become dry, red, and irritated before the T-zone area is affected. Hence, a soap geared towards combination skin is best. It is a good idea to choose an acne soap that has antibacterial properties to fight, prevent, and kill existing acne while leaving your skin with its nature moisture level. The skin can become irritated if the soap strips the skin of its nature moisture. Thus, creating more pimples. There are different types of acne such as whiteheads, blackheads, and cystic lesions. Therefore, it would be wise to choose an acne soap for the particular acne you are trying to control and or eliminate.
